Hikes:  Get outside with us and walk on land that is protected forever!

Do you enjoy the smell, sights, and feeling of being outdoors?

Here at CMLC we can't get enough of it!

We work hard to protect the land of western North Carolina so that future generations can enjoy the great outdoors as much as we have!  What better way to see CMLC's work first hand than to go on one of our monthly hikes.

Almost exclusively on privately protected land, these hikes offer a way to enjoy natural beauty that is otherwise inaccessible.  Hike in our very own Florence Nature Preserve in Hickory Nut Gorge, or to the dramatic World's Edge near Chimney Rock, or perhaps even a tour of a local, working family farm. The hikes are led by our hike committee; a group of wonderful, dedicated volunteers, who organize, scout, and lead all the hikes.  Our hikes and outings are also a great way to volunteer for CMLC, and the hike committee is always looking for more members. If you would like to join the committee, call 828-697-5777 or email outreach@carolinamountain.org to find out when the next committee meeting is scheduled.

The majority of ourhikes are open to the public, but if you are a member of CMLC you become the first to receive information about our hikes, and gain access to our members only hikes.

We hope that you will join us on a hike in the future!
